As the regular season comes to a close and the All Star season is upon us, let us remind each player that we have to be careful on and off the field.
Remember, the Cubs have an expressed rule that no child may incur an injury unless it's directly related to baseball.....on the field.....performing a baseball skill. The only sanctioned injuries must be baseball related. All other injuries resulting from falls, spills, or horseing around....violate team rules and will be dealt with at the discretion of the coaching staff.
Last night our AA Cubs had three players miss a game directly due to unauthorized injuries. As a result, three A players were elevated and performed admirably in the victory over the Dodgers.
During your normal play activities outside of sanctioned practices, you may want to  make some accomodations to protect yourself as this child is during a pick up game in the neighborhood.
