Governor and Mayor recognize World Series bound Little Rock Junior Deputy players.
Little Rock, AR - Junior Deputy’s 10U defeated Fayetteville, AR 13-0 to win the Cal Ripken Southwest Regional Tuesday afternoon (July 25th, 2007). With this victory Junior Deputy will advance to the Cal Ripken 10U World Series being held in Vincennes, IN, beginning August 11.
Junior Deputy had to escape the elimination bracket to claim the title, defeating Fayetteville, AR twice by decisive scores of 11-2 and 13-0. Among the many stars were Jack Novak who homered in the first game and Jack Thomas who hit home runs in both victories.
Junior Deputy’s first game will pit them against the still-to-be-determined Southeast Regional representative in the tournament's second game at 3:00 pm Saturday afternoon, August 11th.
On August 3rd the World Series bound Little Rock Junior Deputy 10U team will meet with Governor Beebe and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola at the State Capital (2nd Floor, Governor’s Conference Room) for a photo opportunity.
Governor Beebe will offer congratulations and Mayor Stodola will proclaim that Friday August 3rd will be recognized as “Junior Deputy Baseball Day” in the city of Little Rock. For more information, contact Junior Deputy Board Member D. Foster at 501.786.0364.
